In 1965 Auburn celebrated its centennial year.  The Auburn Historical Society was formed to collect past stories and pictures with the resulting booklet entitled “History of Auburn.”  A letter from ‘lyn Pignon, one of the contributing writers, mentions many of those who worked on this book, including Bertha Penn, Floyd Lorton, Orin Jenkins, Theodore Smith, Daisy Lochridge Lewis, and Johnanna Lanham.

The book “History of Auburn” is 64 pages of narratives and accounts, along with pictures, which were scanned into the computer with only minor cosmetic corrections made.  To download this PDF file (3.35 mb), click here .
