Deposits and Current Utility Rates

Water Service:

Water Deposit $35.00

Bulk water available at 2nd & Van Buren, near water tower... 25¢ / 60 gal.

Sewer Service:

Tap Fees for New Construction/Remodel

Water Tap Fee:

$250.00
Includes:  saddle on main, corporation tee, curb stop & box.
Extra charges:  meter yoke, meter pit, meter lid & ring, type “K” copper, sand, CA6.
  • City brings water line from main to property line.
  • Home Owner/Contractor responsible from property line into house.

Sewer Tap Fee:

$250.00
Includes: saddle.
  • Home Owner/Contractor brings sewer line from main to house.

Gas Tap Fee:

$250.00
Includes: up to 100’ gas line.
  • City installs gas line to foundation and sets meter.  If gas meter is moved for additions to existing homes, there is a $100 fee plus cost of materials.
Terms:
  1. Owner's contractor(s) must be insured and drug tested.
  2. All laid-in utilities will be inspected by City during City Office hours.
  3. NO utilities will be turned on until material bills due to City are paid.
  4. Any taps made across City streets, where ditch & main is exposed, will be covered with sand up to 10 inches from top of road and CA6 to top of roadway.
  5. If a new resident has gas service for both furnace and water heater, and is, at minimum, stubbed in for gas stove and dryer, the City will reimburse for one water tap fee after the home has been inspected
