The City of Auburn started a FREE citizen notification system in July 2008.
All who voluntarily sign up will be notified by an automated telephone call of any boil orders, road closings for maintenance work or weather conditions, tornado warnings**, and other important notices that need immediate broadcast.

To sign up, call the City Utility Office at (217) 438-6151 with the following information:

1. Name
2. Address
3. Phone Number(s)

Or, complete the Group Cast form and submit it to the Utility Office.

You may add up to three (3) numbers per household as long as each one is set up with an answering machine or voice mailbox.

The call system will leave a message so please check your voice mail if you see our phone number show up on your caller ID. This will keep our phone lines clear if there is an emergency.

** Tornado warnings will be set off on Group Cast as long as telephone and computer lines are operational and the police dispatch has time. As always, do not wait for a phone call if weather is severe and storms are threatening.
